What holds when the storm comes?
The story
Jesus describes two builders. One hears His words and puts them into practice, like building a house on rock. The other hears and does nothing, like building on sand. The same storm hits both houses. Only the foundation decides which one stands.
Why it matters
This is where Foundation meets Action. What we build on becomes visible in how we live. Faith calls for practice, including when that practice costs us something.
The storm is not proof that you built wrong. The question is what you are relying on, and whether your decisions reflect it.
Try this week
- What teaching of Jesus do you agree with but find difficult to practice?
- Recall one recent decision under pressure. What did it reveal about what you rely on?
- What specific decision this week would put that teaching into practice?
