Reflection 07 · Foundation & Action
Small things count.
Faithfulness starts with what is already in your hands.
The story
In Luke 16:10-13, Jesus connects faithfulness in small matters with faithfulness in larger ones. He speaks about how people handle money and what belongs to someone else, then makes the deeper issue clear: we cannot serve both God and money.
Why it matters
Small responsibilities reveal what we value. Keeping a promise, handling money honestly, and finishing an ordinary task are opportunities to live what we believe.
Faithfulness does not guarantee a bigger role. It matters because the people and responsibilities already in front of us matter to God. We can prepare for more while taking care of what has been entrusted to us now.
Try this week
- What responsibility have you treated as too small to deserve your best?
- Where could you be more honest or dependable with your time, money, or commitments?
- What specific action will you take before seeking a larger opportunity?
I will take care of ______ by ______ this week.
